Can-Am Outlander PRO XT specifications
Can-Am · Utility
The PRO XT looks like the DPS and XT from the driver's seat, but Can-Am builds it on its own PRO chassis. The differences are aimed at hauling. Can-Am lists a work-calibrated pDrive clutch, extra-low gearing and a factory HD3500 winch.

A different chassis from the other Outlander 650s
Reviews of the Outlander 700 XT and the 1000R do not describe this chassis, so treat their handling comments as covering the recreation Outlanders, not the PRO line.
What the closest reviews tell you
ATV on Demand tested the related Outlander 700 XT and found it quick, comfortable and versatile with excellent suspension, good braking and standout utility performance, on the same 650cc engine the PRO uses in its HD7 tune. That test also noted the transmission's low range moves heavy loads without excessive revving. The choice of HD5 or HD7 output on the PRO matters: the HD5 is the work tune at 40 hp.
The HD7 is the 50 hp option for riders who want the stronger engine.
PRO XT or a lower-priced Outlander
The Max PRO DPS is the two-seat sibling at $10,099. Buy the PRO XT when plowing, hauling or winching is the daily job. If most of your time is trail riding with an occasional trailer, the DPS 700 has similar power for less money.
Outlander PRO XT against the Rubicon 700 and Grizzly EPS
Honda's Rubicon 700 and Yamaha's Grizzly EPS are the traditional work-ATV choices. Look at each machine's tow rating and weight beside the Can-Am's 1,830 lb and 816 lb.
2027 Can-Am Outlander PRO XT compared to the XT 700
Despite sharing the same 650cc Rotax ACE single and a nearly identical price to the Outlander XT 700, the PRO XT is a different chassis, not a rebadge: Can-Am's own spec sheets show it 42 lb lighter (816 lb versus 858 lb) despite a taller 13-in ground clearance (versus 12.5 in) and an extra-low gear range the XT 700's transmission does not have.
The PRO XT's own page markets it specifically for ranching, farming and worksite use, where the XT 700 is positioned as a recreation-first utility trim.
Can-Am · Utility
The Outlander PRO XT is Can-Am's work-calibrated utility ATV: a 650cc Rotax ACE single sold in a 40 hp (HD5) or 50 hp (HD7) tune, an estimated 816 lb dry, a 1,830 lb braked tow rating and a factory 3,500 lb winch, starting at $9,399. It is built on a separate PRO chassis from the DPS and XT Outlanders, with a work-tuned clutch and extra-low gearing.

2027 Can-Am Outlander PRO XT questions
What engine does the Can-Am Outlander PRO XT have?
A 650cc Rotax ACE single cylinder, sold in an HD5 tune rated at 40 hp or an HD7 tune rated at 50 hp. The rest of the machine is identical between the two tunes.
Does the Outlander PRO XT come with a winch?
Yes, Can-Am builds it with a factory HD3500 winch, extra-low gearing and a work-calibrated pDrive clutch, on a chassis separate from the DPS and XT Outlanders.
The PRO equipment needs a work-specific comparison
The PRO XT's 650cc engine is described as the HD7 in this configuration. Compare the work equipment and tires with the ordinary DPS 700 before choosing by the number in the model name. The listed XPS Trail King tires carry a six-ply rating and use different widths at the front and rear. Use those complete specifications when checking replacements or a used machine's modifications.
The 1,830 lb tow rating applies to a braked trailer here too. A higher stance or a work-oriented name does not raise the rating beyond the documented figure. At $9,399, the PRO XT is $650 above the DPS price used on these pages. Decide whether the supplied equipment matches the job before assuming the entire difference is an engine upgrade.
