Ducati lists two rider-footpeg positions and offers a separate kit for a more rearward position. The V4’s controls should be checked on that generation: the older XDiavel V-twin had a different adjustment arrangement.
The Granturismo V4 has spring-operated valves and chain-driven camshafts. Ducati specifies valve-clearance checks at 37,000 miles, or 60,000 km. The final drive is also a chain, so an earlier belt-drive XDiavel’s drive-maintenance instructions describe different hardware.
For the Burning Red version, the published $28,995 base price plus $1,295 destination charge totals $30,290 before tax, title, registration and other dealer charges. Optional equipment changes that subtotal.
Motorcycle.comDucati XDiavel V4 specificationDucati · Cruiser
The XDiavel V4 is Ducati's V4 power cruiser, with forward footpegs that shift through three positions and a thicker seat than the old V-twin XDiavel. Motorcycle.com says a 6-foot-1 rider's legs extend comfortably to the forward pegs, and Ducati asks $28,995.
RevZilla says apart from the XDiavel's 6.9-inch TFT display, compared with the Diavel's five-inch unit, the electronics package carries over, including ride modes, power modes and cornering-dependent rider aids.
It says Ducati hailed the thicker seat and an extra inch of rear suspension travel compared with the XDiavel 1260, that riders can shift the footpegs forward or rearward with 0.8 inches between the three mounting positions, and that the handlebar also promotes a relaxed posture. The reviewer adds that Ducati's 1,158cc V4 is not a customary cruiser powerplant.
Motorcycle.com says its tester, at 6 ft 1 in, finds that legs extend comfortably to the forward pegs, and gives the seat height as 30.1 inches, compared with 28.1 inches for a Harley-Davidson Low Rider ST. The tester had a Sargent seat redone to raise the rider by 2 inches, and says Ducati's bold, swaggering spirit suits the cruiser ethos, though he had not ridden the earlier V-twin XDiavel.
Ducati lists 168 hp at 10,750 rpm and 93 lb-ft at 7,500 rpm, a 30.3 in seat, 505 lb without fuel and a 5.3 gal tank. At $28,995 it costs $4,996 more than Harley's Low Rider ST at $23,999, and it makes 168 hp against the 105 bhp Motorcycle News quotes for the Harley.
The weights are on different bases: Harley's running-order figure is 712 lb and Ducati's weight without fuel is 505 lb. The pegs' three positions matter for fit, since a tall rider can stretch forward and a shorter rider can pull them back.
Service and ownership cost
The 1,158cc Granturismo V4 uses chain-driven camshafts and spring valves, not Ducati's desmodromic system. So valve clearance service comes every 60,000 km (about 37,000 miles). Routine service is due every 15,000 km (9,000 miles) or 24 months, whichever comes first. The maintenance schedule has the dealer inspect the final drive belt tension and wear at each service.
Sit on it with the pegs in each of the three positions before you buy, since the forward-most one suits a tall rider and the tester had a Sargent seat redone to gain 2 inches.
Who it suits
The XDiavel V4 suits a rider who wants a fast, low cruiser with sport-bike electronics and a relaxed, forward-footed position. It is not the bike for someone who wants a light, cheap cruiser.
XDiavel V4 against the Diavel V4 and Low Rider ST.
Ducati's own Diavel V4 is the more upright sibling, and Harley's Low Rider ST is the comparison Motorcycle.com makes.

Ducati XDiavel V4 questions
How tall is the Ducati XDiavel V4?
Ducati lists a 30.3 in seat, and Motorcycle.com quotes 30.1 inches and compares it with 28.1 inches on the Harley Low Rider ST.
Can the XDiavel V4 footpegs be moved?
RevZilla says the footpegs can be shifted forward or rearward, with 0.8 inches between the three available mounting positions.
What is new on the XDiavel V4 over the 1260?
RevZilla says Ducati points to a thicker seat and an extra inch of rear suspension travel compared with the XDiavel 1260, along with the V4 engine.
Forward-control fit is the purchase question
The XDiavel's 30.3-inch saddle and 63.8-inch wheelbase belong to a cruiser arrangement around the 1158cc V4. A rider familiar with the Diavel should still try the reach to the bars and pedals. A low nominal seat cannot establish comfortable leg extension, and a change to the saddle can alter that relationship without changing the model specification.
The rear tire is a 240/45 ZR17, substantially different in width and profile from the 120/70 ZR17 front. Obtain replacement and fitting prices for the exact approved sizes. A wide rear tire is part of the motorcycle's layout, not evidence that every aftermarket wheel or tire of similar appearance is suitable.
The listed $28,995 base price should be separated from delivery, tax and accessories. If passenger use is planned, identify the actual passenger equipment and loading instructions in the offer. Compare the complete XDiavel arrangement with the Diavel before assuming a shared engine makes a conversion between their riding positions straightforward.
