How the XP 1000 performs.
The XP 1000's engine is its selling point. UTV On Demand says it has always admired the broad powerband and push-you-back-in-your-seat performance, and that Polaris marginally improved it in spite of a weight increase. The 2024 update also kept the clutch fully engaged at lower speeds, which improves performance and reduces belt wear, especially when sizing up on tires.
Sport, Premium or Ultimate
The Sport is the base XP 1000. UTV On Demand lists the $22,999 RZR XP 1000 Premium as adding four-point harnesses, a poly roof and an upgrade from 29-inch to 30-inch tires in a square setup, and says the 660W charging system rises to 900W on the Ultimate for extra electronic accessories. A driver who mostly wants the engine can buy the Sport and add tires later.
What changed on the 2024 RZR XP 1000 and how to use low range.
The 2024 XP 1000 got engine and chassis tweaks. UTV On Demand says the intake manifold was designed to increase torque across the usable power range, paired with a redesigned exhaust and recalibrated fuel mapping, and that suspension and handling improved for the tighter trails in the testers' area.
It suggests using low range only when operating below 15 mph for a prolonged period, where the lower gearing makes popping up and over obstacles easier. The same test notes that the $45,000 models are out of many buyers' price range.
