How the Xpedition drives
The Xpedition handles better than its size suggests. UTV Action drove a 2024 Xpedition as aggressively as it could and never had brake fade or any issue with braking performance, and says that once you get used to the body roll and how to set up for corners you can wheel the five-seater like some sport machines. A three-position toggle switch controls engine power.
Range, noise and stability on the Xpedition
The Xpedition does not quite reach its range claim. UTV Action says Polaris's claim of a 200-mile range from the 12.5 gal tank was not reached, though at cruising speed loaded with people and gear it might come closer, and after driving hard the testers toned it down and got another 20 miles from the tank. The enclosed HVAC model has no wind noise, so motor noise stands out.
On a short, off-camber trail the vehicle was stable and sure-footed at slow speed. The test vehicle was a four-door 2024 Xpedition XP in Ultimate trim priced at $35,999, so the 2026 XP's $39,499 price is higher.
Xpedition XP against the Ranger XP 1000 and General XP 1000
Polaris's own Ranger XP 1000 Premium ($21,799) and General XP 1000 ($23,999) share the 999cc engine and cost $15,500 to $17,700 less. The Xpedition adds the enclosed cab with heat and air conditioning and a 12.5 gal tank.
