Seat height and fit

Ducati lists 33.3 in, the Indian tester measured 845 mm (33.3 in). So they agree, and the seat is tall. A shorter rider should sit on one before buying, and Ducati's accessory low seat can help.

The electronics package is comprehensive enough that a rider stepping up from a 600 can use the lower power modes to learn the bike.

Service cost and known faults

Establish the model year, engine and market before obtaining a valve-service quote. A European estimate from a secondary guide is not a US dealer quote, and a cost or interval from another Streetfighter generation should not determine the maintenance budget.

Ducati Streetfighter V4 SP: equipment and specifications

The Ducati Streetfighter V4 SP is an earlier equipment configuration, rated at 208 hp and 90.4 lb-ft from the 1,103cc Desmosedici Stradale V4. Ducati lists 419 lb without fuel, 2 lb more than the standard Streetfighter V4, and a 33.3 in seat. It adds track-focused suspension, brakes and wheels to the standard bike.

Bennetts says the SP has lightweight carbon wheels that are 1.4 kg lighter, an STM-EVO SBK dry clutch, more track-focused Ohlins Smart EC 2.0 suspension and Brembo Stylema R braking. The rider aid list it gives is extensive: three riding modes, Bosch cornering ABS EVO, traction control, wheelie control, slide control, launch control and engine brake control. It lists dry clutch, electronic suspension and lightweight wheels among the upgrades over the standard machine.

Autocar India reviewed the Streetfighter V4 and says the seat is well padded for a performance motorcycle but its 845 mm height may be challenging for shorter riders. Match the quoted seat measurement to the particular SP edition. The track-focused suspension may make the ride firmer on rough roads than the standard bike's.

Ducati · Naked

The Ducati Streetfighter V4 is the naked bike built on the Panigale V4's 1,103cc Desmosedici Stradale engine, rated at 205 hp and 88.3 lb-ft. Ducati lists 421 lb without fuel for the base V4; the V4 S is listed at 417 lb, a 33.3 in seat and a 59 in wheelbase, from $24,595. It has superbike engine and electronics with more upright ergonomics.

What testers say

Autocar India says the seat is well padded and comfortable for a performance motorcycle, though its 845 mm height may challenge shorter riders, and that the bike combines superbike-level handling with improved road comfort and can cruise comfortably at low speeds in higher gears. It lists riding modes, power modes, traction control, slide control, launch control and engine brake control.

Motorcycle.com says the ability to feel comfortable immediately on a bike with north of 200 horsepower is a testament to the package, and calls it superbike technology in a machine with more comfortable ergonomics, a thrilling and practical package for a wide range of duties.

At $24,595 it costs $2,446 more than KTM's 1390 Super Duke R Evo at $22,149 and $9,596 more than Kawasaki's Z1100 at $14,999. The published Ducati and Kawasaki figures differ by 66 lb, but the Ducati figure excludes fuel and the Kawasaki’s is a curb measurement. Keep those bases attached rather than treating that subtraction as a loaded-road comparison.

Service cost and known faults

The Desmo valve service is due every 24,000 km and costs about €1,200 to €1,500, the largest routine expense (Motor Risk Score). The same guide reports that the quickshifter and gear position sensor give trouble across model years, with minor weeps rather than serious failures. So ask the seller whether either has been replaced under warranty.
