Triumph Scrambler 900 specifications
Triumph · Classic
Total Motorcycle's range note says the Scrambler 900's updates include a more refined chassis, upgraded Showa suspension and radial brakes for better capability on and off the road. Those are the reasons the Scrambler, at $12,395, costs $1,400 more than the T100 at $10,995, though both share the same 64.1 hp engine. The Scrambler weighs 492 lb wet against the T100's 503 lb, and its tank holds 3.17 gal against 3.8 gal.

What Visordown says
Visordown lists as a con that the seat comfort is not on par with some other Bonnevilles, and praises the wide bars, which sit where you want them, giving plenty of control around town and making low-speed steering feel almost comically light. It says you can short-shift and potter, rev it out and scrape the pegs, or sit at motorway speeds without the bike feeling out of its comfort zone.
Scrambler 900 against its siblings
Compared with the T100, the Scrambler has the smaller tank, lighter weight and better-equipped chassis, and compared with the Speed Twin 1200 at $15,395 it has 39 fewer horsepower. It has the same 31.1 in seat as the T100. It is the choice for a rider who wants a classic scrambler look and some gravel capability.
The seat comfort note is worth a test.
Scrambler 900 in numbers against the Scrambler 400 X
Triumph sells two scramblers. The Scrambler 900 has a 900cc twin making 64.1 hp and 59 lb-ft, costs $12,395 and weighs 492 lb, with a 31.1 in seat and a 3.17 gal tank. The Scrambler 400 X has a 398cc single making 39.5 hp and 27.7 lb-ft, costs $6,195 and weighs 395 lb, with a 32.87 in seat and a 3.43 gal tank.
The 900 costs $6,200 more and has 24.6 more horsepower. The 400 is 97 lb lighter with a taller seat. Choose the 900 for two-up and highway work, and the 400 for a light, cheap scrambler.
Seat, bars and gravel use
Visordown's mixed verdict, wide, well-placed bars and light steering against a seat that is not the most comfortable, sets what to test on a ride. A rider who does short trips and light gravel will like the control and the low-speed handling, and one who covers long distances may find the seat a problem, which an aftermarket seat can fix. The 2026 update to Showa suspension and radial brakes improves the bike on both surfaces.
The 3.17 gal tank is small for long gravel days.
Scrambler 900 against the Bonneville T100 and Scrambler 400 X
Triumph's own T100 shares the engine, and the Scrambler 400 X is the smaller and cheaper scrambler.
