Polaris Ranger SP 570 specifications

Polaris · Utility

The SP 570 is a comfortable, unhurried machine. Outdoor Life says a 6 ft 2 in tester fit the cab comfortably even on longer rides, and that the machine does not bring a lot of power or top-end speed to the party. Dirt Wheels sets it against Polaris's RZR Trail S, which has more than double the horsepower, 100 hp against 44, plus Ride Command and a nicer riding suspension.

How the Ranger SP 570 performs

Polaris upgraded the 2024 model to 25-inch 8-ply Pro Armor X-Terrain tires for durability.

Living with the NorthStar cab, and what it lacks

The NorthStar cab is what most SP 570 buyers pay for. Dirt Wheels says the heater let the testers head to the mountains on a frosty morning near freezing, the Pro Shield cab keeps the elements out, a wiper and washer keep the glass clear of moisture and mud, there is plenty of in-cab storage in the doors and under the bench seat, and vehicle noise was virtually nonexistent until the windows were rolled down.

The report also notes the windows are not electric and there is no air conditioning, unlike the full-size three-seat HVAC NorthStar Rangers, and that the machine is not going to set any land speed records but has the power for mountain trails, farms, fields and desert paths.

Price, towing and the step up to the Ranger XD

Outdoor Life says a base SP 570 without the enclosed cab is available for an incredibly reasonable $11,699, and that although $20,000 for a side-by-side is not cheap, the NorthStar is about as good a deal as one can find for a machine with an integrated winch and enclosed cab. The 1,500 lb tow rating comes with a stock 2-inch receiver. So a driver only needs to add a draw bar and ball (Dirt Wheels).

A buyer who wants more power should look at the full-size Ranger XD 1500, which offers 110 hp.

Ranger SP 570 against the Mule 4000, Viking and Pioneer 700-4

The Ranger SP 570 sits between Kawasaki's cheaper Mule 4000 at $10,199 and Yamaha's Viking EPS at $14,299. Its listed weight of an estimated 1,168 lb dry is the lowest of the group, and its 44 hp is a modest output.

Polaris Ranger SP 570 trims compared: Polaris Ranger SP 570 NorthStar Edition

The two SP 570 trims differ in the cab. The NorthStar Edition adds a cab, and Dirt Wheels estimates that the NorthStar package adds about 300 lb to the vehicle, which you can feel in the horsepower department. Outdoor Life found the window fully defrosted and the cab toasty on opening day of deer season.

The base SP 570 is the lighter, cheaper open-cab machine.

From SP 570 to the 2027 Ranger 600

Polaris identifies Ranger 600 as the renamed SP 570, with no significant change in engine displacement, horsepower or performance. Its 2027 page lists 44 hp, a 56-inch width and a 500 lb cargo-box limit. These are mid-size Ranger figures.

The 2027 base MSRP is $11,999, with $1,145 destination listed separately. Price a specific year and trim before comparing a used SP 570 with a new 600; the name change does not make their equipment or purchase prices identical. Polaris Ranger 600 specifications and rename explanation.

Polaris · Utility
