How the Pro R drives
The Pro R is a fast machine that asks for a skilled driver. Dirt Wheels says it accelerates with enough thrust to bury you in the seat back, gives thrilling bursts on straights and formidable power on climbs, and that the engine's power and torque allowed exhilarating speeds on fast, off-camber, rocky trails.
The 7-inch display selects the ride modes, and Comfort is tailored to relaxed trail rides with low compression and rebound damping to absorb small bumps.
The four-seat Pro R 4
But at high speed it does not feel quite as planted as the two-seat Pro R or as sharp as the Can-Am Maverick R. The 10.4-inch touchscreen powered by Ride Command has an integrated rear camera.
Pro R against the Maverick R, Teryx H2 and Talon 1000R
The Pro R's direct rival is Can-Am's Maverick R at $39,699, and Kawasaki's supercharged Teryx H2 costs $32,899. Honda's Talon 1000R FOX Live Valve is a much cheaper option at $23,799, with a listed weight of 1,607 lb against the Polaris's 2,339 lb dry estimate. The Pro R is the most expensive of the four at $43,999.
