Living with a Z H2 SE
The Z H2 draws attention and holds up. In a six-week loan, MoreBikes reported pride at seeing people point to the engine and mention the supercharger, and found no issue with the bike carrying around another 40 kg of mass over similar machines.
It also found the lack of a screen an issue at sustained speed, though dropping the chin to the tank relieved some of the wind pressure on the neck, and said the supercharged power moves the bike forward at the same pace regardless of a race position.
The downshifts click in every time, though the tester used the clutch on downshifts from third or lower for a smoother ride. Comfort at a normal pace covering distance was not a worry.
After five months, the same reviewer noted the standard Pirelli Rosso III tires still looked good and kept their profile despite finding traction every time near 200 bhp had to be called on, while anchoring up a machine of more than 240 kg.
Electronics and engine
Total Motorcycle lists the electronics as Kawasaki Electronic Control Suspension with Showa Skyhook Technology, Kawasaki Cornering Management Function, power modes, launch control and an economical riding indicator, on a 998cc, 16-valve, balanced supercharged engine making 147 kW (200 PS). Its specially designed frame combines high-speed stability with light handling for use in the city or on the road.
